Download and install the Playster app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Not worth it

I started using this because it was the same price as audible but you weren’t restricted to just one book. Although I still use audible as well because this app does not carry all of the books that I want. The app itself is ridiculously bad. The search function is horrible. You can search for a specific book or author and not find it but then find another book from that same author, hit their name then find the book you were previously looking for. Or find a book one day and be unable to find it again. And it loses your place or logs you out all the time. But it was still worth it to me to put up with all of the inadequacies because of the cost/# of books aspect. But after months of using it, and hours of searching for books and adding them to my account, now they are all premium books. All of them. They even changed the book I was listening to to premium and I was only able to finish it by trying the premium version for free. It is no longer worth all of the nuisances you have to put up with with the app if you have to spend more money to get the books you want. I have cancelled my membership and will be sticking to audible and the library from now on.

Many unabridged books don’t finish in audiobooks. Also, I have to delete the app and reinstall it because I get the “unable to get data” message. This happens every time I hit the reverse button on a book. Searching for book titles is ok if you know the exact name of the book. I am unable to search by author with any type of success. Searching by genre shouldn’t even be an option that just doesn’t even work. I tried searching fiction - thriller and got things like autobiographies, team building and romance. All that being said, I listen exclusively on my iPhone but I did pull it up on my laptop and it worked much better so maybe it’s just the phone platform that needs work. The folks at this app are quite helpful and are easy to deal with.
Warning... Playster might not be logitmit. Don’t pay them.

I was shut out of service as soon as iTunes automatically built me. this app said it was an account messup and instead of resolving it told me to ask Apple for a refund. Apple took me in circles and essentially directed me back to this app. Now my only choice is to dispute the charge with my credit company. I have been this app’s paying customer for less than 3 months. Had several app bugs and this app support repeatedly told me to be patient. At one time one support person said the bug was caused by them raising price by 30 percent, and a couple hours later another support said they never raised prices. They launched an audiobook premium plan in December and took out all the good books out of the basic plan. They are just trying to get you to pay more. Do you realize the box popped up on the app the most often is asking you to upgrade the plan? Anything or everything could trigger the message. If Apple does not want to be responsible, it should not let the app stay and charge the 30 percent on top while sticking the customers with the mess. It should kick this app out of App Store.

I’ve been an avid audiobook listener for years. I have been using this app for nearly a year now and considering giving it up. The limited use of the audiobook is annoying and the inability to even search for titles is simply ridiculous. The functionality of the app is also troublesome. I also use audible and will continue service with them because at least I don’t have to log in several times a day, it doesn’t forget my place in a book and I can save titles from my computer and they still show up on my app. I started listening to a book on my computer on this app after I saved it, added it to a playlist and not only can I not find it saved on the app it doesn’t even show up on my history. I was looking for an audiobook app like this app because I hate paying for a book I don’t like or finish. But it’s not saving me anything when I can’t even use the app half the time anyway and I have waited weeks between books and still have restricted access. I don’t have these negative feelings towards other apps and it really prevents me from recommending this app to my audiobook loving friends.
