What is TfL Oyster and contactless? The TfL Oyster and contactless app allows users to manage their adult Oyster and contactless cards on the go. Users can top up pay as you go credit, buy adult rate travelcards and bus & tram passes, view journey history, check pay as you go balance and season tickets, and receive notifications when their balance is low or their travelcard is about to expire. The app also allows users to check contactless payments and incomplete journeys.

Software Features and Description

1. When you top up your credit or buy a Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass, it will be available to collect after 30 minutes when you touch your Oyster card on a yellow card reader as part of a journey on any London bus, or at any Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail or National Rail station within the pay as you go area, tram stop or River Bus pier.

2. For security reasons the TfL Oyster and contactless app is not supported on jailbroken devices.

3. Manage your adult Oyster and contactless cards on the move with the app.

4. The TfL Oyster and contactless app will request access to your camera.

5. Keeping on top of your spend is easy; see the date, time and cost of your journeys from the last 8 weeks.

6. You can’t currently add Oyster photocards to this app.

7. Alternatively you can enter the card details manually.

8. This is so that you can scan your payment card.

9. You can’t currently buy discounted tickets through the app.

10. We will never store the scanned pictures.

I live in the UK and I am on the American iTunes store. I think this app works best with these to factors. It's simple, quick, fast and does everything that I need on a day to day level. Like top ups and travel cards. Anything complex I go to the the app site. Which is rare. Thanks the app. 👌🏻
Literally nonfunctional in every possible way

There is nothing about this app that works. First, I can't top up without a UK credit card. Second, you can't add the same card multiple times which is obnoxious because if you change devices or need to keep track of a friend's card you're screwed. Third, in order to register you need to remember exactly where you were at a random time the day before. I have horrible memory and am rarely in london... how the heck am I supposed to know what number bus line I was on at 12:55 yesterday? Fourth, my app never shows the correct amount. This must be the worst part... it says you have five pounds and you trust it but when you get to the gates it says go to h*ll, you have no money. Horrible.

Simple app, needs Apple Pay

A simple app where you can check your balance, top up, see your journeys. Would be great if you could top up via Apple Pay rather than having to input your credit card. Anything beyond that, you’re better off logging onto the main Oyster site.
