  • This app is actually pretty decent!

    By Bluefox1995JH (Pcmac user)

I gave it a test-drive for like 45 minutes, and I was actually really impressed by this app. One thing I really find great about this app, is that it can play videos perfectly fine, whereas when I go to Twitter on Safari, it won't play crap. So this app is great for watching videos and viewing photos. It's also likeing when it doesn't open the same page twice in a row, like the Twitter website on Safari did. I also like the custom trends based on my activity and followers, whereas on the website, you only get trends for you localized area. I think a lot people just don't like this app, because they're still upset that Twitter removed the app from the "mac app store" and not the "ios app store". And because it's devloped by Twitter itself, it's not a 3rd party app that always tries to ask for your money. If an update breaks this app, or any of it's features, I'll more than likely update this review, but after using today, I really enjoyed using it.
  • Thanks for disabling Twitter app

    By open ambush (Pcmac user)

Sarcasm, but at first this seemed like a nice replacement due to the fact Twitter not only removed the Twitter app from the App store, but also disabled using its service completely, which is quite stupid in my opinion. I like the fact this app allows the 280 character limit which the Twitter app lacked. Less bugs and it almost never quits unexpectedly, another bug the Twitter app had. What I don’t like about this app is how its functionality just depeletes over time. Lately this app has a bug which doesn’t load images or videos for some unknown reason. Used to work earlier. This app needs to update gif capablities, because how can you go on without that feature? C’mon! You should offer the ability to hide images through settings, which I no longer see the option for or the setting is elsewhere. Would give this a five star, but it’s quite lacky on what Twitter should be like as it is by the mobile app.
  • Recent change to links in tweets has ruined tweetdeck

    By LauraSomerville (Pcmac user)

As of a couple days ago, you can no longer read more than a few words of what is being linked in someone’s tweet — you no longer see the actual link. You see what sort of looks like a Quote Tweet box. Except it’s not helpful like a Quote Tweet box. You see a few words from the headline of the link. But what is the point of seeing just a few words of what is being linked?? How is that helpful? It gives you just enough context to be *totally* confused. Please fix this! I wish I could show a screencap of how completely useless this new feature is. It does not help in any way and is far more confusing than anything else.
  • It's Abandonware. Move on people.

    By —yay— (Pcmac user)

Some feedback below for developers, if they care. EDIT: last updated 3 years ago! Haha! Never mind then. The dark theme is burning my eyes out. There is too much contrast. Font color is pure white, make it whitish. Look at other apps with dark mode for inspiration. Take a look at App Store reviews and their color theme, for example. Much more pleasant to look at. This app is just a web page in (bad) disguise. Menus especially don't look nor feel native. Their styling is also always white, even if you select the dark theme in the app. With it being a web app, use "user-select: none", please! Often I inadvertently select text and pieces of UI because you are allowed to select everything just like on a typical web page. This is not a good thing. It's OK to be able to copy a tweet, but it should be well defined. No menu bar icon. Notifications don't show up in notification center. OK, I'm back to using that other unofficial twitter app, will check back in 6 months.
