Software Features and Description

1. This is the FREE version of the most popular vessel tracking app, providing real-time data on the positions and movements of vessels, utilizing a large network of terrestrial AIS receivers and satellites.

2. If a particular vessel is out of our AIS coverage zone, VesselFinder displays her last reported position and updates it as soon as the vessel comes into range.

3. VesselFinder Lite aims to reveal the comprehensive picture of the global AIS coverage.

4. If you experience any problem with the app, please send us an email with more details using the contact form on our website instead of writing a review here.

5. Coverage - near-shore coverage, same as the coverage on the website.

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

- After a recent update, the app no longer shows vessel speed

- The free version of the app is not very useful for searching for specific vessels or obtaining detailed information

- The paid version of the app is expensive, especially considering that similar information is freely available on desktop browsers

Fantastic App!!

I was recently in Savannah & LOVED watching the gigantic container ships/cargo ships/tankers going by River St. & I kept asking everyone I’d meet there asking them how do you know when they’re going to pass by & a worker at the visitor center finally told me about this app & I downloaded it right away & haven’t missed a vessel yet!! It is the answer! It is perfect. You can zoom out to Tybee & beyond to see specifically what is coming & going. You won’t be disappointed. And it’s free. Thank you so much, this app!

This is a great app however after downloading the update it does not show the speed I think it was much better before
The free version of this app is all but useless.

If you like looking at little colored triangles on a map, then this is the app for you. If you want to search for a vessel or anything remotely useful, then the free app is pretty much useless. Paying ten dollars for the paid version for information which is freely available on a desktop is ridiculous. I’ll just do vessel searches in the safari app of my phone. (for FREE).
